The Benefits of Morning Training In the desert, a drop of water is a very precious commodity. In life, each second is like each drop of water in the desert. The seconds are invested to sustain and encourage life and growth, or they evaporate. It takes discipline to get up early and train your mind and body, but it gives you the freedom to get on with your life - you don't need to take time away from your family, work or social life... Imagine... just 3 hours devoted to Aikido-Yoga training each week will give you about 156 hours (or the equivalent of an extra month of 8 hour working days ) per year. It's quality time invested in your own personal growth.
Many people simply squander their time - living under the delusion that their lives will go on as usual tomorrow, and forget to value the present moment as a precious, irreplaceable commodity that will never present itself in the same way ever again. Others continually race against the clock, trying to cram in as many activities as then possibly can, and suffer stress and inevitable illness in the process. Most people struggle with procrastination - the "I'll do it later" syndrome. The discipline of getting up early forces you to become more aware of this negative characteristic of your behaviour. You realise that you have been using all sorts of excuses based on either a lack clear goals, a lack of inspiration, or maybe you have allowed life to overwhelm you, or are over-committed - with no time left to invest in yourself.
Early morning training in Aikido-Yoga will teach you a new meaning of the word contentment - and how to live a life without struggle. It will teach you how to balance assertive action with simply allowing things to be - and continually ask yourself what is most important to YOU - and then learn how to sustain your intent in that direction - and be fully present at each and every moment of your life. Getting up early will seem less and less difficult as the joy of discovery replaces apathy and personal inertia. Gratitude and joy will then fill your heart. The discipline of getting the right amount of sleep, and getting up to greet the day and train in Aikido-Yoga will empower you with a deep understanding that each moment is all you will ever really have in life.
